With The Hundred 2023 fast approaching, an exciting reshuffling of the leadership deck has seen Nat Sciver-Brunt return to captain Trent Rockets' women's team and Wayne Parnell stepping up as Northern Superchargers' men's team captain.

Trent Rockets and Northern Superchargers set for fresh leadership

Sciver-Brunt is set to resume her role as captain of Trent Rockets, after a brief hiatus she took from the role to focus on her game during the tournament last year. During her break, Australian cricketer, Elyse Villani, took over the captaincy to help Trent Rockets reach the Eliminator where they were faced a two-run loss at the hands of Southern Brave.

It is worth mentioning that Sciver-Brunt's personal performance last season was nothing short of outstanding, as she clinched the position of third-highest run-scorer in the tournament with a total of 228 runs in six innings at a stellar average of 76.00.

Meanwhile, the men's team of Trent Rockets will continue to be led by Lewis Gregory, the inspirational captain who propelled them to The Hundred title last year and recently won the T20 Blast with Somerset.

On the other hand, in a parallel shift of leadership for the Northern Superchargers, South African all-rounder, Wayne Parnell, is set to lead the side, following Faf du Plessis' exit due to his commitments with the Caribbean Premier League's St Lucia Kings.

Parnell, a stand-in for Superchargers twice in the previous season, is not just retained for the 2023 season but has earned the mantle of captaincy. He joins Matthew Short and David Wiese in the team's overseas player trio.

Despite concluding last season in the sixth spot with four wins and losses each, the Superchargers are looking to reinvent their game under Parnell's leadership, who recently led Pretoria Capitals to the final of the inaugural SA20 and is currently at the helm for Seattle Orcas in Major League Cricket.

As far as the Northern Superchargers Women’s team is concerned, Hollie Armitage will uphold her role as the team's captain, leading the squad into the third season of The Hundred.
