Nitish Kumar Reddy found a place in India’s playing XI for the second Test of the five-match series against England at Edgbaston in Birmingham. The 22-year-old, however, failed to justify his return as he was cleaned up for just a single by English paceman Chris Woakes.

Batting at number six, the cricketer had his off-stump rattled after leaving Woakes’ delivery as India slipped to 211-5 in 61.4 overs with his exit. As one can expect, a legion of Indian cricket fans flocked to social media and brutally roasted Reddy for his nightmare comeback.

“Embarrassing Dismissal…” Fans Troll Nitish Kumar Reddy

Nitish Kumar Reddy arrived to the crease at 208-4 after the dismissal of in-form wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant. Reddy, however, failed to sustain India’s momentum as he was castled by Chris Woakes for just one from six balls a couple of overs later in the innings.

His atrocious leave, as described by Indian cricket fans, went on to rattle his off-stump as the speedster bagged his second wicket of the day after getting rid of Indian opener KL Rahul.

While some fans trolled Nitish Kumar Reddy by calling out his “brain fade moment”, others criticized the team management for recalling the all-rounder back into the Indian playing XI.

Nitish Kumar Reddy’s dismissal paved way for the arrival of all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja into the crease. The cricketer shared a cunning partnership with captain and half-centurion Shubman Gill.
