United States of America scripted history on Friday, June 14, after they qualified for the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2024 following an abandoned game against Ireland. With rain calling off the match, Pakistan also get crashed out of the T20 World Cup. 

The co-hosts USA have created history by qualifying for the Super 8 stage of the tournament, and it becomes even more special as they are the tournament debutants. Pakistan, on the other hand, have failed to proceed to the Super 8s for the first-time in the event's history.


It is a dark day in Pakistan cricket as they cannot blame anyone than themselves for the situation they were in. Notably, the Men in Green lost against USA in their tournament opener and then suffered an embarrassing defeat against India. 

The hosts, on the other hand, beat Pakistan and then Canada to prove their mettle in the tournament. USA are now placed in second group of 'Super 8' with South Africa. 

The match officials for the USA-Ireland match did their best to have at least a 5-over a side game, but the weather conditions in Florida did not permit that. Notably, the city was hit by a flood recently which led to the wet outfield for today's game.
