Pakistan's fate in this T20 World Cup hang by a thin thread as they await the result of the USA-Ireland match at the Central Broward Regional Park in Florida. The Men in Green are backing Ireland to win the game to stay alive in the competition.

However, a wet outfield due to the flood that hit Florida a couple of days ago, has delayed the start of the USA-Ireland match, which has left Pakistan worrying. Notably, a washout would also mean that the USA qualify for the Super 8 while the Men in Green bow out of the T20 World Cup 2024.

The game that was supposed to start at 8:00 pm IST was delayed because of the dangerous outfield and the umpires felt the same way when they came for inspection again at 9:00 pm IST. Even there were reports on social media that the match had been called off. However, ICC confirmed that the umpires decided to have another inspection at 10:00.

Even during the 3rd inspection, the umpires deemed the outfield to be unfit but scheduled another inspection for 10:45 pm instead of calling off the match and that came as a shock for several fans, including Sri Lanka and Nepal fans.

Notably, Sri Lanka and Nepal were supposed to play their group stage game in Florida on June 12 but the game was abandoned without a single ball bowled.

In the latest events, the fans took to social media platforms where they labelled ICC as 'Hypocrite' and accused them of 'Favouring Pakistan'.

They complained that the umpired did not schedule these many inspections for the Sri Lanka - Nepal match as they have for the USA-Ireland game.

Here are some of the reactions.

A section of fans also defended ICC and stated that during the Sri Lanka- Nepal game, the rain was constantly pouring, unlike the wet outfield situation at the USA-Ireland match.
