No one will be going anywhere. Nobody will be leaving their TV sets when England clashes with India in the 2nd Semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 taking place at the Adelaide Oval in front of around 55,000 people.

None of the matches played in this competition have been played without context and this one with an actually bigger impact is going to be fascinating to watch. Not because it is India playing against England but two of the world's biggest sides (on & off the field) that will want to prove themselves on the global stage.

India had a pretty decent Super 12 stage except for the game against South Africa. Their batting looks stable and their bowling which was the main concern before the commencement of this World Cup now looks sorted.

England, on the flip side, have been blessed with a range of power hitters from Jos Buttler to Moeen Ali to Liam Livingstone to Sam Curran. The bowling department looks well-polished but have to keep an eye on the injuries.

The Men in Blue haven't won anything in the format since 2007 and for the Three Lions, it is 2010. They are two of the fiercest rivals who doesn't know the meaning of the word 'lose'. Doesn't matter what the weather forecast is because when they face each other it is going to be absolute fire.

Match Details

Match: England vs India, 2nd Semi-Final, T20 World Cup 2022
Time & Date: 10th November 2022, Thursday, 1:30 PM (IST)
Venue: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
Streaming & Live Broadcasting: Star Sports Network and Disney+ Hotstar

Pitch Report: The English side were quite literally stunned when they found out that a used pitch will be deployed for this game. Although, the groundsman is confident that it won't be on the slowish side but going by the previous game on this track between Australia and Afghanistan, it could be uneven on bounce. However, it might turn better to bat on in the second innings under lights with an average first innings score of around 170. There was rain on the eve of the game but hopefully, it will all be clear when the match initiates.

Probable Playing XI

England: Alex Hales, Jos Buttler (c & wk), Philip Salt, Ben Stokes, Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan.

India: KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma (c), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant (wk), Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh.

Prediction

Going by the previous record, India have won four out of their last five matches against England which gives us the hint that they have gotten better of this line-up.

The English side is arguably one of the most competitive sides, but they might just fall short when they face this Indian powerhouse. Hence, India should triumph and progress to play Pakistan in the finals.
