It will be an absolute blockbuster when India face England in the second semi-final at Adelaide with both sides immersed with great potential. Where the English side looks settled, the India team is still in dilemma about whom to pick between Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant.

It isn't going to be easy with many factors like ground dimensions, opposition strength, bowling attack playing key role in the selection criteria. Now, former Indian cricketer and head coach Ravi Shastri has weighed in, about who should India go with for the crucial face-off.

According to Shastri, Karthik is an outstanding player but looking at the opposition Pant is more suitable for the match considering his powerful shots and left-handedness. He further claimed that he has also done well against England recently plus he brings the X-factor to any game he plays.

"Dinesh is a lovely team player. But when it comes to a game against England or New Zealand, just seeing their attack, I think you need a robust left-hander who can turn it on, and is a match-winner and a left-hander."

Talking about the ground dimensions, he mentioned that Adelaide has shorter boundaries on the side which he could easily target, bringing in variability in the batting line-up forcing the opposition to change their plans.

"You are playing in Adelaide, short boundaries square, another reason why a left-hander should be there to disrupt the England attack. England have a nice attack, a varied attack of left-handers and right-handers."

India's semi-final against England will be played on 10th of November at Adelaide Oval.
