SuperSport Park Centurion Weather Forecast For Day 3 Of SA vs IND 1st Test

Day 3, called the moving day, could be the most critical in the first Test of the marquee South Africa versus India series in Centurion as the hosts aim to stretch their first-innings lead out of the visitors' grasp while the Indians strive for a much-needed comeback in the riveting contest.

Placed at a rather comfortable 256/5 with their resolute centurion Dean Elgar still there at 140 not out, South Africa carry an 11-run lead into the next afternoon and will be hoping to put a third-innings deficit worth a minimum 60-70 runs, if not 100, against the Indians, especially with the spicy SuperSports' Park surface beginning to ease out.

For India, the only chance of a backdoor entry into the contest is to finish off the Proteas' batting effort as early as possible on Day 3 and then bat a sizeable score in the middle if they are to retain any hopes of pulling off a Test win.

One eye will also be on the overhead conditions and the weather forecast for the all-crucial day of Test match cricket. As it stands, the Centurion Test could be in for three uninterrupted sessions for the first time since no rain is predicted during the playing hours after the first ball is bowled at 10:00 AM local time.

The weather forecast is for a mostly sunny day with clear skies finally allowing some sunshine to bake the playing surface at SuperSports Park. It should help the pitch further ease out for batting, which would perhaps raise the Indian hopes providing they don't let the rest of the Proteas batting survive long.

Temperatures are expected to range between a minimum of 13 degrees Celsius to a high of 24 degrees Celsius in what are still the early days of the South African summer. Humidity could touch 70% throughout the playing hours but the cooler temperatures and a wind of 8 km/hour shall make life comfortable for the two teams.
