Makhaya Ntini lauded India's ace speedster Jasprit Bumrah and backed him to reinforce his genius and greatness with the ball during the two-match Test series in South Africa.

The former Proteas pace giant laid bare his fondness for the Indian seamer and hailed him as an irreplaceable figure in the tourists' camp.

Ntini focused on one of Bumrah's biggest strengths and called the delivery which straightens after pitching from the angle coming in as an unplayable part of the unorthodox pacer's arsenal.

Bumrah An Irreplaceable Figure For India - Ntini

The ex-cricketer was himself a prominent exponent of the ploy but reckons Bumrah has mastered it since batters lose a fraction of a second to react and adjust against him due to his action and the skiddy nature of his deliveries.

"Look where Bumrah releases the ball. He releases the ball from the top of his head. So, he gets the angle to bring the ball back in. He can get deliveries to straighten after pitching," Ntini told PTI.

"I don’t know if he has powerful wrists and action is always the same, that’s how beautiful it is. His yorkers, he doesn’t miss any, those are the things everyone gets to enjoy. India isn’t the team without Bumrah," he added.

The Indian speedster is on his third Test tour of South Africa since making a highly impressive debut in the country back in January 2018. Bumrah's terrific record in the land of the Proteas with his 26 scalps over six previous Tests arriving at only 24.38 apiece.

The 29-year-old has taken two five-wicket hauls in the rainbow nation, including a best of 5 for 42. He will be extremely critical to the Rohit Sharma-led side and its chances as they strive to rewrite the history books and bag a maiden Test series win in South Africa.
