South Africa is playing against Bangladesh in the second Test of the two-match series. The Proteas are on course to win this match and walk away with a clean sweep in the series. 

The Aiden Markram-led side batted first in the game after winning the toss and dominated the proceedings on Day 1. Though the skipper failed to convert his start, Tony de Zorzi and Tristan Stubbs ensured South Africa moved towards a significant total in the first innings. 

De Zorzi and Stubbs stitched a 201-run partnership

De Zorzi and Tristan Stubbs were engaged in a partnership of 201 runs from 342 deliveries. The unfortunate dismissal of Tristan Stubbs at his score of 106 off 198 deliveries resulted in the separation of the duo. They had the chance to tumble many records with their stellar show. However, they did go past a few milestones with their 201-run partnership. Notably, Tony de Zorzi is unbeaten at a score of 141 from 211 deliveries at the end of Day 1.

Regarding milestones, this partnership between de Zorzi and Stubbs now ranks third for the second-wicket partnership in Tests for South Africa. They went past Gary Kirsten and Nicky Boje's 161 vs India scored at Bengaluru in 2000.
