Ace South African batter Tristan Stubbs showcased his class with the bat, as he slammed a glorious hundred in the ongoing second Test against Bangladesh at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Coming at number three, the stylish right-handed batter hammered 106 runs off 198 deliveries before Taijul Islam cleaned him up in the 74th over.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, South Africa had a solid start to their innings before Taijul Islam got Aiden Markram's prized scalp to draw the first blood for the hosts. However, Tristan Stubbs bailed the visitors out of trouble, forming a magnificent stand with Tony de Zorzi for the second wicket. 


Both players showed exemplary grit and resilience, countering the Bangladesh bowlers effectively. Regarding Tristan Stubbs, the right-handed batter respected the good balls, while putting away the poor deliveries to the fence. He smashed six fours and three massive sixes for his sublime ton that helped South Africa claim the driving seat. 

On the other hand, Tony de Zorzi played a pivotal role in the visitors' dominance, completing his century in 146 deliveries. The southpaw became only the third South African opener to slam a Test hundred in Bangladesh. 

South Africa In A Commanding Position In Chattogram

Riding on scintillating tons from Stubbs and De Zorzi, South Africa breached the 300-run mark, losing only two wickets in their first innings. At the time of writing, the Proteas were 307 for two, with De Zorzi and David Bedingham batting on 141* and 18*, respectively.
