Mandhana, buoyed by the dominant performance in the ODI series, carried her excellent form into the Test match, as she scored an unbeaten 64 off 93 balls till lunch on Day 1.

Mandhana's form from the ODI series, where she scored two centuries and just missed a third, has seamlessly transitioned into the longer format. She scored 117 off 127 balls with 12 fours and a six in the first match, and an impressive 136 off 120 balls with 18 boundaries and two sixes in the second. 

This consistency and ability to adapt her game across formats highlights her prowess as a top-order batter.

Earlier in the match, having won the toss and elected to bat first on a red soil pitch, the Indian openers made a watchful start against the new red cherry. Shafali Verma remains unbeaten on 65 off 75 balls, which included 11 fours and a six, while her partner, Smriti Mandhana, is also unbeaten on 64 off 93 balls, which included 12 fours. 

India is at 130/0 at the end of 28 overs, with the first session completely belonged to the hosts.
