Smriti Mandhana is having a dream run in white-ball cricket as the India opener. After a disasterclass in the T20 World Cup, where India bowed out of the group stage, Mandhana has been in superb form despite her team failing to deliver the goods.

With her latest fifty against the West Indies Women on Tuesday, Mandhana scored her 6th consecutive fifty-plus score in white-ball cricket and continues to be India's best batter across formats.

Mandhana's brilliant run of form

The run of form started in Australia, when she slammed a brilliant century, but it came in a losing cause. Following which, Mandhana terrorised the Windies bowler by scoring three fifty-plus scores in 3 T20Is, and has now racked up back-to-back half-centuries in the two ODIs against the same opposition.

However, the star opener has failed to convert most of the good starts into big hundreds, something which will cause headache to her. In the second match against the West Indies, the vice-captain of the side started on the front-foot, and was the chief aggressor as the West Indian bowlers looked clueless in front of her batting.

Mandhana dismissed by an unfortunate run-out

Just like in the previous game, Mandhana failed to capitalised and threw her wicket at 53 off 47 balls. There was a huge miscommunication between the two India openers and it resulte din the run-out.

Mandhana looked visibly frustrated and rightly so as she had a golden chance to score a scintillating century. At the moment, India are in a strong position and have lost just 2 wickets for a score of 185.
