Mumbai all-rounder and one of the finest players in the domestic circuit, Tanush Kotian has earned his maiden India call-up and will fly to Australia to join the Indian side for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

As per Sportstar, the Mumbai player will replace the retired R Ashwin in the team and will fly to Australia on Tuesday. However, his participation in the Boxing Day Test is still doubtful. Kotian, a right-handed batter and an off-spinner, has carved a name for himself in the domestic circuit and earned his deserving call-up.

Tanush Kotian's first-class stats and records

The all-rounder boasts a stellar record in first-class cricket. In 33 matches, he has scalped 101 wickets, at an average of 25.70. Plus, just like R Ashwin, he is a handy lower-order batter as well.

The all-rounder has accumulated 2523 runs, at 41.21, showcasing his prowess with both bat and the ball. The MCG and the 5th Test in SCG might favour the spinners and India might be tempted to include him in the lineup.
