Arriving to the crease at a precarious 88-6 in 13 overs, Shivam Mavi’s turbulent knock blazed the Kashi Rudras to a monumental 176-8 at the end of their innings.

Kashi Rudras slipped to 88-6 in 13.2 overs after the dismissal of a well-set Yashovardhan Singh to Gorakhpur Lions bowler Shivam Sharma. Batting at number eight, Shivam Mavi counterattacked for Kashi Rudras with a flurry of extraordinary sixes, and even shared a game-defining 87-run partnership with Shiva Singh.
Mavi blasted 54 runs off 21 balls with six huge sixes as his batting blitz catapulted the Rudras to 176-8 from 20 overs.
A fast bowler by profession, the 26-year-old also picked up the key wickets of Gorakhpur Lions captain Akshdeep Nath and Hardeep Singh in his first couple of overs as Kashi Rudras secured a comprehensive win to start off their UP T20 League 2025 campaign.
It is worth noting that Shivam Mavi was part of the India Under-19 team that lifted the 2018 Under-19 ICC World Cup in New Zealand. He also made his international debut for Team India in January 2023, and went on to play six games over the course of the next month.
Currently out of contention for a Team India spot since February 2023, Shivam Mavi’s latest all-round heroics will surely put him in good stead among the national selectors ahead of next year’s 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
