Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchises have all reportedly suffered revenue declines in the financial year 2025. As reported by the Economic Times, the Mumbai Indians franchise has posted a profit of Rs. 84 crores, which is down from Rs. 109 crores in the financial year 2024.

The RCB franchise suffered the steepest slide, while the LSG slipped into losses after the conclusion of the IPL 2025 season.

As reported by the Economic Times, owners of the Mumbai Indians franchise, i.e., the Reliance Industries-owned Indiawin Sports have posted a profit of Rs. 84 crores in the financial year 2025, which is down from Rs. 109 crores from last year. Moreover, their revenues also slipped from Rs. 737 crores to Rs. 697 crores (figures quoted by TOI).

In RCB’s case, the revenues dropped to Rs. 514 crores in the financial year 2025 from its Rs. 649 crores last year. Their profits also fell a staggering Rs. 140 crores from Rs. 222 crores. The report also indicated that the LSG franchise suffered losses of Rs. 72 crores with a turnover of Rs. 557 crores in the financial year 2025.

In the financial year 2024 annual report of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the report showed that Rs. 4,578 crores were disbursed among all IPL teams out of the total earning of Rs. 11,703 crores. Nearly 75 percent of these total earnings came from media rights alone, while the remaining came from franchise fees and sponsorships.

Nonetheless, the IPL 2025 came to a conclusion on June 3 a couple of months ago at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, with RCB winning the title to bag their first-ever IPL silverware.
