West Indies annihilated Bangladesh in their dead-rubber to clinch a comprehensive 3-0 series win. While Roston Chase and Ackeem Auguste bludgeoned sizzling half-centuries in the run-chase, it was Romario Shepherd’s hat-trick that hogged the limelight and set the tone at the halfway stage of the game.

Here, we take a look at the entire highlights of the third T20I of the three-match series between Bangladesh and West Indies, as it panned out at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram on Friday, October 31.

Tanzid Hasan the solo act in Bangladesh’s 151

Opening batter Tanzid Hasan registered 89 of Bangladesh’s 151 runs on the board after the hosts won the toss and opted to bat first. Tanzid faced 62 deliveries in the innings, and dispatched nine of them for boundaries and another four for some cracking sixes. While Saif Hassan at number four also chipped in with a handy 23 off 22, no other Bangladeshi batter managed to breach the double-digits.

Notably, they even reached a commanding 118-3 in 16 overs at one stage before getting blown away by West Indies fast bowler Romario Shepherd. The speedster picked up each of his three wickets in successive deliveries to bag a rare hat-trick, thus finishing with figures of 3-36. Jason Holder and Khary Pierre also chipped in with two wickets each in the innings.

Roston Chase and Auguste douse Bangladesh in run chase

West Indies lost opener Alick Athanaze for just one from eight balls to slip to 6-1 in three overs, and eventually to 52-3 after the fall of Brandon King and opener Amir Jangoo (34 off 23) to Nasum Ahmed and Rishad Hossain respectively.

Fortunately for the visitors, captain Roston Chase and number five Ackeem Auguste composed a match-defining partnership of 91 runs for the fourth wicket, with both cricketers unleashing blistering half-centuries. While Rishad Hossain (3-43) dismissed both well-set half-centurions at the brink of the finishing line, Rovman Powell and Gudakesh Motie notched up the winning runs for West Indies in 16.5 overs.
