In the recently concluded match between Rajasthan and Bengal, Mohammed Shami again shrugged off any injury concerns as he registered a three-wicket haul. The right-arm seamer was the leading wicket-taker for his side and played a crucial role in the thumping win.

Shami Schools Rajasthan Batters

Notably, Rajasthan, batting first, put just 153 runs on the board. Shami led the pace attack and drew the first blood for Bengal on the 2nd ball of the match. He got rid of opener Abhijeet Tomar and then took crucial wickets of Shubman Garhwal and Deepak Chahar.

Shami, who has had a mixed Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, registered the figures of 3/26 in his four overs. With this spell, Shami again sent a reminder to the selectors to include him in the BGT squad.

BCCI Keeps Shami Waiting For BGT Inclusion

It is worth noting that Shami was asked to play SMAT by the BCCI members to test his fitness and get match-ready. So far, Shami has taken 8 wickets in seven games for Bengal, but he is yet to receive an update from BCCI.

India will lock horns against Australia in the 2nd Test on December 6, and, certainly, Shami can only be considered for the remaining three matches. Thus, it is to be seen whether he will be on the flight to Australia.

Talking about the match, it was also an Abishek Porel show as he smashed 78 (48) against Rajasthan, and it helped Bengal beat the team from West by seven wickets. With the win, Bengal also qualified for the knock-out stages.
