The fans have to wait little more to get over with Champions Trophy 2025 hosting right sage as the meeting between PCB, BCCI and ICC has been cancelled again. According to a report from RevSportz, the emergency meeting will not take place on Thursday, December 5.
The report mentioned that the BCCI and PCB are likely to hold talks on December 7, but it cannot be said with 100% certainity. The latest updates were that the PCB agreed over the possibility of having a dual nation model for Champions Trophy 2025.
Mohsin Naqvi Accepts Hybrid Model With Conditions
Notably, the BCCI pushed for a hybrid model for Champions Trophy 2025 as they won't allow India to travel to Pakistan because of security reasons. In the latest events, there were reports that PCB and its chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, had agreed to a hybrid model but put forward few conditions.
One of the conditions was to have a similar hybrid model for Pakistan in all the events that India will host till 2031. The call on this demand is yet to be taken. Further, the PCB wanted all their games in Pakistan, as Dubai is likely to get five matches, which includes three group stage matches of India and semi-finals, finals.
PCB Proposes A Tri-Series With India
Further, Cricbuzz reported that the PCB has proposed a tri-series between India and Pakistan with another country at a neutral venue. However, the demand is likely to be rejected as both BCCI and ICC are not in favour of it.
Also, one demand that the ICC is open to compensation for relocating the five games, and it is unlikely there will be any opposition to this demand.
