India and Rajasthan Royals have been given a major injury scare as Sanju Samson, their star player was not wearing the keeping gloves during the England innings, and instead, Dhruv Jurel came out as his replacement. India's campaign in this series has been marred by injuries and Samson also had the same fate.
Eyebrows were raised when Team India came out in the second innings, but there was no Samson with the side and Jurel had the keeping gloves with him.
Why is Jurel keeping the wickets?
During India's innings, Samson was tested by English pacer, Jofra Archer with his short ball and Samson failed to deal with it as he copped a blow on his thumb and it affected his batting rhythm as well. He looked in pain and the physio came out to attend him.
The batter looked in some discomfort as he rode the bounce but couldn't play the ball as it almost struck him at 150 km/h. He continued to battle, but eventually fell prey to Mark Wood's short ball as he was dismissed for 16.
