Sai Sudharsan, the Gujarat Titans opener is a proper definition of Mr consistent and he once again showcased his domination in the ongoing match against Rajasthan Royals. The Titans batted first and just like every other match, the opening pair of Sudharsan and Gill showcased their domination.
Sudharsan gets closer to Tendulkar
The pair added 93 runs for the first wicket as Sudharsan scored a brisk 39 off 30. In the process, he also surpassed Virat Kohli and became the current holder of Orange Cap in IPL. Interestingly, he was close to breaking Sachin Tendulkar's massive IPL milestone, but missed it by a whisker.
Currently, Sudharsan has 1,490 runs in the IPL, and he needed just 10 runs to surpass Sachin Tendulkar and become the fastest player to reach 1500 IPL runs. However, he misses out on the landmark by a close margin. But the GT opener still has a chance to achieve the feat as he is just 10 runs away and has 10 more innings to break that feat.
Fastest to 1500 IPL runs
Player | Innings |
Sachin Tendulkar | 44 |
Ruturaj Gaikwad | 44 |
Both Tendulkar and Ruturaj Gaikwad reached the milestone in 44 innings and Sudharsan currently has 10 innings to beat the two batters. In 34 innings, the GT opener has 1490 runs at an average of 48.06, with a strike rate of 142.31.
GT openers dominate RR bowlers
Just like every other IPL matches, the two openers, Shubman Gill and Sudharsan came out all guns blazing as they added 93 runs for the first wicket. The duo have now added more than 500-runs in the IPL 2025 season as RR bowlers looked helpless and failed to take wickets. Sudharsan was dismissed for 39, but Jos Buttler continued the domination as at the moment, GT are 154/1 in 15.4.
