Phil Salt left absolutely clueless on Thursday (September 19) while facing Ben Dwarshuis in the first ODI of the three-match series at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. The incident happened during the eighth over of England's innings when Dwarshuis bowled a hard-length delivery towards middle and leg stump. Salt tried to defend it, but was absolutely decieved by the way it went in to knock over the stumps.
Salt's reaction said it all, while Dwarshuis, the left-arm pacer, was absolutely pumped to open his account in ODIs in a magnificent manner.
ENG Vs AUS 1st ODI: What Happened So Far?
England, batting first, are on top of Australia despite losing Salt early. At the time of writing this, they are 232/4 after 35 overs, with Jamie Smith and Liam Livingstone in the middle.
England rode on Ben Duckett’s breezy 95 and Will Jacks’ 56-ball 62 to get to a solid position. Even newly-named skipper Harry Brook played his part, making 39 off just 31 balls, as Livingstone and Smith would love to carry on the momentum going.
For Australia, Marnus Labuschagne struck twice in two overs, while Adam Zampa and Dwarshuis had a wicket each. Interestingly, Australia have used eight bowling options within 35 overs.
