In a dominant contest, Rajasthan Royals beat Lucknow Super Giants by 7 wickets. In the first inning, Aiden Markram and Ayush Badoni’s half centuries powered LSG to a decent total of 180 runs. While Yashasvi Jaiswal played a composed inning of 74 off 52 balls, the Royals choked in death overs, failing to chase 25 runs in the last 3 overs and lost the game by 2 runs.

Here’s how RR vs LSG panned out in Jaipur:

Aiden Markram Leads Charge After Pooran’s Cheap Dismissal

LSG batted first but lost Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran early. While Marsh fell prey to Jofra Archer, Sandeep Sharma deceived Pooran with a disguised slower delivery. The batter, aiming for a powerful slog across the line, was completely fooled by the change of pace. He played the shot too early, missed the ball entirely, and was struck on the pads, leading to a LBW dismissal. With just 46 runs on board, Lucknow were 2 wickets down.

However, Aiden Markram took charge, hitting an impressive 66 off 45 balls. By the time Markram was dismissed by Hasaranga, LSG had 130 runs on the board which set the tone for the lower middle order to finish on a high.

Ayush Badoni’s Fifty Puts LSG On Top

LSG called in Ayush Badoni as an impact player and the youngster played a crucial knock of 50 off 34 balls. His inning was well constructed, including 5 fours and a solitary six.

Abdul Samad, meanwhile, unleashed carnage in the death overs to surge Lucknow’s total. In 10 balls that he faced, Samad hammered 30 runs with 4 big sixes. That finishing knock helped LSG post 180 runs on the board at the end of first inning.

14-Year-Old Vaibhav Sets IPL Ablaze

With Sanju Samson absent from the game due to injury, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi opened the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal. The teenager left everyone in awe with a first ball six against Shardul Thakur. RR’s opening batters were ruthless in the powerplay, bringing up 61 runs on the board. Vaibhav was dismissed by Aiden Markram as Rishabh Pant pulled off a quick stumping to end the kid’s 34 off 20 balls stay on the crease.

RR Choke Easy Chase As Jaiswal’s 50 Goes In Vain

Yashasvi Jaiswal showed great composure, hitting a sublime 74 off 52 balls. His mature inning put RR in a good spot but the lower middle order made a meal out of the chase. Riyan Parag faced heat as he was dismissed by Avesh in a 5-run 18th over. With 9 needed off the final over, Avesh Khan dismissed Shimron Hetmyer on the third ball. He nailed back-to-back yorkers to keep RR at bay and seal a 2-run narrow victory for LSG.
