GT beat DC at home in IPL 2025 [Source: @IPL/X.com]
In a classic display of fine hitting, Gujarat Titans beat Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets in 35th match of IPL 2025. Batting first, Delhi put a strong total of 203 runs on the board. However, Jos Buttler came out all guns blazing in the chase, hitting 97* off 54 balls and guided Titans to a dominant victory.
Here’s how GT vs DC panned out in Ahmedabad:
Prasidh’s Breathtaking Spell Sweeps DC’s Top Order
Gujarat Titans bowled first amid the scorching heat of Ahmedabad but the fast bowlers fought extreme conditions to rattle DC’s top order. Arshad Khan got the breakthrough to dismiss Abhishek Porel before Prasidh Krishna sent back 2 dangerous batters, KL Rahul and Karun Nair.

Prasidh bowled one that was full, fast, and tailed in late to Rahul who misjudged the line as he tried to clip it through the leg side. With the bat face slightly closed, he missed, and the ball crashed into the pad, plumb in front. DC were reduced to 93/3 after Nair’s wickets.
Stubbs, Ashutosh Guide Delhi To Par Total
Meanwhile, the stage was set and Tristan Stubbs scored 31 off 21 balls to boost the scoring rate. Axar Patel, struggling with foot discomfort, also played an impressive knock of 39 off 32 balls. However, Ashutosh made a real difference in the death overs. He hammered 37 runs in just 19 balls to help Delhi surpass the 200-run mark. The Capitals ended up with a total of 203 runs at the loss of 8 wickets.

For GT, Mohammed Siraj and Arshad Khan conceded 47 and 46 runs respectively. While Prasidh also leaked 41 runs, he picked 4 crucial wickets.
Jos Buttler Unleashes Carnage After Gill’s Run Out
With a steep total to chase, Gujarat Titans lost skipper Shubman Gill early in the powerplay. A mix-up between Gill and Sai Sudharsan left the former in danger as Karun Nair nailed a direct hit to end Shubman’s stay at the crease.

While Sudharsan redeemed himself with 36 off 21 balls inning, Jos Buttler took charge after his dismissal. He unleashed carnage to take DC bowlers to the cleaners single-handedly. Jos hit Mohit Sharma for 18 runs in the 13th over to bring up his 50 in 32 balls. The GT batter didn’t even spare Mitchell Stac, taking him on for 20 runs in the 15th over, which included 5 straight boundaries.
Rahul Tewatia's Calm Results In Stunning Win For GT
Despite Jos Buttler's swashbuckling inning, the game went down to the wire. With 10 needed off the last over, Rahul Tewatia took the pressure off Buttler and fearlessly hit Mitchell Starc for a six and a four to seal a dominant 7-wicket victory for Gujarat Titans. While Buttler was left stranded on 97* off 54, Tewatia's courage took GT home.
