RCB faced a tough game against PBKS in a rain-shortened match of IPL 2025 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Despite a massive batting collapse, it was Tim David who gave RCB something to cheer about. But there are still doubts over his batting order.
RCB were 42/7 at one stage and later slumped to 63/9, but Tim David’s quickfire knock of 50 off 26 saved them from complete embarrassment. They finished with a 95-run total.
Although RCB lost the match by five wickets, David was named Player of the Match for his brilliant effort.
Tim David Opens Up On His Batting Order
Tim David came in to bat at no.7 against PBKS and scored his maiden IPL half-century. When asked about batting higher in the order, David said he trusts the coaching staff to decide his position.
"Our coaching staff and management have built the squad for a certain reason. I am very pleased and I feel like am batting well at the moment. I can contribute but trust the coaches to put where I can score. If I get an opportunity to bat up, I will look to contribute for my team," David said.
He also conceded that the pitch was difficult to bat on following the rain, and his teammates gave him an idea of the conditions. David also commented on the poor home record of RCB.
"At times when you are trying too hard, it doesn't come off. The challenge here at times in Bangalore has been to bat with the bowlers and string up a partnership. Tonight was difficult. You had to manage risks a little bit. We haven't played well at home. We need to find a template to find a way and win a couple of games," he added.
RCB Hit New Low After Shambolic Loss Vs PBKS
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) hit rock bottom on April 18, as they suffered a crushing five-wicket loss to Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 34 of IPL 2025. This defeat wasn't just another entry in their loss column, it marked a historic low. RCB now possess the unwanted record of most losses at a particular ground in IPL history with 46 losses at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
