In the latest development around Rohit Sharma, there are reports that the Indian skipper is all set to train with Mumbai's domestic squad on Tuesday. According to a report from Indian Express, Rohit will train with Mumbai's Ranji Trophy squad at the Wankhede Stadium.

The report further mentioned that the hitman is also mulling over participating in Mumbai's upcoming Ranji Trophy match against Jammu & Kashmir starting on January 23. It was a crucial step in Rohit's future as the hitman was facing the cries of ouster from the Indian team.

Rohit Sharma Mulling To Play Ranji Trophy

Following a disappointing show with the bat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Rohit's future with the Indian team was in question as the Indian skipper had dropped himself for the fifth and final Test as well. It is worth noting that Rohit had averaged just 10 in the BGT.

However, now it looks like Rohit is looking for a turn-around of things and wants to get his basics right by playing in the Ranji Trophy. It is worth noting that he has already resumed his practice for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 at the MCA-BKC ground.

Rohit Likely To Return After 9 Years In Ranji Trophy

“He will be coming for practice sessions with the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team and it is still not decided whether he will be playing the next Ranji Trophy game against J&K. He will inform the MCA in due course,” a source in the MCA informed.

The last time Rohit featured in a Ranji Trophy match was in 2015. Thus, it is to be seen whether Rohit will return to red-ball cricket or prioritise practising for Champions Trophy 2025 which begins on February 19.
