India’s batting maestro Virat Kohli finally got off the mark in the third ODI against Australia, bringing a huge sigh of relief to his fans. After scoring back-to-back ducks in the first two matches, Kohli was under a lot of pressure as he walked out to bat at number three following Shubman Gill’s dismissal. Facing Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood, Kohli leaned forward to a full delivery just outside the off stump and smartly flicked it towards mid-on for a single. That one run brought massive cheers from the stands and a visible sense of relief on Kohli’s face.
The former Indian skipper celebrated the moment with a fist pump and a big smile, clearly delighted to have avoided a rare hat-trick of ducks.

Earlier in the match, After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Australia posted a target of 237 runs, thanks to solid knocks from Matt Renshaw (56) and Mitchell Marsh (41). Meanwhile, for India, Harshit Rana impressed with the ball, taking four wickets, while Washington Sundar added two more to keep the Aussies in check.
At the time of writing, India were 102 for 1 in 16 overs, chasing the target comfortably with 135 runs needed from 204 balls.
