Ahead of the Qualifier 2 and Final of the IPL 2025 season, rain has hit the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The venue is supposed to host both these games, and fans are angry with BCCI’s poor planning.
The IPL 2025 season saw a brief break due to the border conflict between India and Pakistan. Moreover, apart from the schedule, venues were also revised once the tournament resumed.
The IPL 2025 final, which was earlier supposed to take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, was shifted to Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, citing rain threat.
Rain Hits Ahmedabad Ahead Of IPL Final
However, BCCI’s planning backfired when the Qualifier 2 game between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians was delayed due to heavy rain at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Moreover, the IPL 2025 final is also scheduled to take place at the same venue on June 3.
Meanwhile, fans lashed out at the BCCI for their poor planning. Many noted that the weather in Kolkata is clear, and if the venues weren’t changed, Qualifier 2 and the final would have proceeded without any interruption.

Interestingly, if Qualifier 2 gets washed out due to rain in Ahmedabad, PBKS will advance to the finals due to the absence of a reserve day. Hence, rain is bad news for MI, who advanced to Qualifier 2 after beating Gujarat Titans in the Eliminator.
