Uttar Pradesh captain Rinku Singh lit up the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 with a blistering 106 not out off 60 balls against Chandigarh on Friday in Rajkot. His explosive innings, featuring 11 fours and four sixes, powered Uttar Pradesh to a formidable total.

Batting at number five, Rinku Singh looked fluent from the start, finding boundaries with ease as he brought up his fifty in just 35 balls and wasted no time shifting gears, racing to his century in the next 21 deliveries to completely change the momentum of the innings.

Rinku Singh turns the game for UP with blistering century

Earlier, Aryan Juyal and Dhruv Jurel rescued UP from an early loss of wicket. Juyal scored 134 off 118 balls and shared a 96-run stand with Jurel, who made 67. Their partnership steadied the innings after Abhishek Goswami fell early inside the powerplay

Juyal then added 71 runs for the third wicket with Sameer Rizvi, but it was Rinku Singh's arrival that transformed the innings. Walking in at 170 for 3 with less than 20 overs remaining, Rinku forged crucial partnerships with Juyal and CSK’s new recruit Prashant Veer to propel Uttar Pradesh to 367.

This is Rinku Singh’s second List A century. He now has over 2,100 career runs at an average of 50.46 in 50-overs cricket. His form continued from the previous game, where he scored a quick 67 off 48 against Hyderabad, helping UP win the first round.

Now, with a century to his name, Rinku Singh’s knock highlighted his growing importance in Uttar Pradesh’s batting line-up. His ability to control and accelerate the innings has strengthened UP’s Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign and also serves as a timely boost for India, with the left-hander included in the T20 World Cup squad.
