Weather in Colombo, Sri Lanka continues to play spoilsport in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. The two matches - India vs Pakistan and India vs Sri Lanka were marred by rain, and now the latest weather update is not at all promising for the crucial Pakistan vs Sri Lanka game.

With just an hour left for the all-important toss, rain god has arrived in Colombo and it is pelting down at the moment. The pitch has been covered and the fans can expect a delayed start to the game.

Rain was expected to arrive on Thursday and as per the weather.com, there was a 94% chance of rain and thunderstorm.

In case the match doesn't get underway and gets abandoned due to rain, Sri Lanka will reach the finals, since they have a better net run-rate than Pakistan. Moreover, unlike the India-Pakistan Super 4 match, there is no reserve day scheduled for this encounter.

Talking about the two teams, both Sri Lanka and Pakistan lost their last match against India, who have already reached the finals. Pakistan were humbled by 228 runs against India, while Sri Lanka lost a close-fought battle, chasing a tricky 213.

Pakistan have already announced their playing XI for this match, with out of form Fakhar Zaman getting an axe.
