In a much-anticipated encounter, India and Bangladesh are set to face off for the first time in the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 stage at the R Premadasa Cricket Stadium, Colombo. However, the weather gods seem determined to have their say, with ominous signs of rain looming over the match.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) initially contemplated a shift to Hambantota due to weather concerns, but ultimately opted to stick with Colombo, despite the risk of precipitation dampening the spirit of the competition. The decision to maintain Colombo as the venue for the Super-4 games raises questions, particularly in light of the recent washout between arch-rivals India and Pakistan.

Speaking of which, India's previous Super-4 clash against Pakistan necessitated the use of a reserve day to conclude the match at the same venue in Colombo just days ago. This further highlights the unpredictability of the weather conditions in the Sri Lankan leg of the tournament.

The R Premadasa Stadium is set to be the battleground. However, the meteorological outlook doesn't seem entirely promising. According to the latest report from Weather.com, Colombo is expected to witness morning thunderstorms, with the possibility of scattered thunderstorms continuing later in the day. The maximum temperature at the start of the match is forecasted to be around 30°C, gradually dropping to 26°C as night falls.

Rain Prediction for September 15 in Colombo indicates the likelihood of thunderstorms overnight and during the morning hours from 8 AM to 9 AM. The threat of thunderstorms reemerging at 3 PM further complicates matters. Humidity levels are expected to hover around 74%.

Considering these weather conditions, the IND vs BAN match could be in danger of interruptions due to rain.
