After a short break, action resumed in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023, as Guyana Amazon Warriors locked horns against Jamaica Tallawahs in match 25 in Providence Stadium. 

Tallawahs' batting first suffered a collapse and managed just 152 runs, with skipper Brandon King scoring 52. Fabian Allen and Raymon Reifer played cameos and helped the total edge past the 150-run mark.

The Warriors chased down their target with comfortable ease as Saim Ayub slammed his third consecutive fifty and top-scored with 85 in his side's seven-wicket win.

However, the highlight of the match came in the first innings during Jamaica's batting, when Allen struck a monstrous six and broke the window pane. 

The West Indies all-rounder canned a loose delivery from Dwaine Pretorius on the final ball of the 17th over and thumped a six-over long-off, which crashed into the window pane.

With this win, Guyana have qualified for the CPL 2023 playoffs, having played seven matches, and winning six, and one no-result. 

Meanwhile, Jamaica are still in the hunt but will need to win both their remaining matches to have an outside chance of making it into the playoffs, having lost five, and won two matches so far, with one no-result. 

Tallawahs next meet St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, on September 16 and play Saint Lucia Kings on September 17. The Patriots have already been eliminated from the playoff race.
