What Will Happen To Pakistan If USA Vs IRE Match Gets Washed Out?

The match between the USA and Ireland at the Central Broward Regional Park in Florida has been delayed because of  wet outfield. The city of Florida was struck by heavy rainfall in the past few days which also triggered a flash flood. 

A few videos surfaced online where the cars were submerged in water. The visuals scared Pakistani fans as a wash-out in the USA-IRE match would result in Pakistan bowing out of the T20 World Cup in the group stage round. 

Pakistan lost two off their three matches as they faced embarrassment against USA and India. On the other hand, India qualified for the super 8 round with three wins in three games, while the USA won two matches. Thus, a win against Ireland or a washout would see the USA going through to the next round.

If the hosts qualify for the super 8, they will also directly qualify for the 2026 T20 World Cup set to be hosted by India and Sri Lanka. At the time of writing this article, the news is that the umpires will inspect the pitch at 10:00 pm IST. 

For Pakistan to qualify for Super 8, they would hope for Ireland to beat USA, India to beat Canada and then they beat Ireland in their final group stage match.
