Pakistan’s ambitious 2025 ICC Champions Trophy hosting plans started off on an anti-climactic note, considering the ‘Men in Green’ slumped to a huge 60-run larruping in front of their home crowd in the opening match of the tournament. Chasing 321 runs against New Zealand, Mohammad Rizwan’s troops folded up for just 260 in 47.2 overs at the National Stadium in Karachi.
As one can expect, Pakistan’s underwhelming outing on the field paved way to a slew of some hilarious social media trolling, with several fans also singling out senior batter Babar Azam for his sluggish approach in a daunting run-chase.
