'Our Batters Didn't Get....,' David Warner Rues Missed Chances After Yet another Defeat

Another IPL game and another defeat for David Warner and Delhi Capitals. Their fifth loss in a row and this would hurt the Capitals big time.

After the bowlers did a terrific job in restricting RCB to a below-par total of 174, the batters failed to capitalise and fumbled once again, handing RCB a comfortable 23-run win.

Manish Pandey fought a lone battle, but he hardly got any support from the other end as wickets tumbled at regular intervals and DC faltered once again.

Speaking to the official broadcaster after the match, Warner looked disappointed and blamed the batters for their fifth loss

"Yeah, look I said at the toss that we need to bat well. Our batting didn't get together and we failed to chase down a total that our bowlers did well to restrict them. See, once we lose three wickets inside the power-play, you are always behind the game. Siraj with his tail up was bowling magnificently.

The positives are that our bowlers were on spot and they managed to restrict the opposition. We have a five days off from the game now, and will come with better intent. Yeah, we saw teams coming back from losing five games in a row to lift the trophy. So we will have that in mind and try to replicate the same."

The Capitals lost 3 wickets for just 2 runs up-front and never recovered from the early jolt as the RCB bowlers kept it tight and held their nerves to clinch their second win of the season.
