As expected, Delhi Capitals (DC) have introduced Prithvi Shaw as their 'impact player' in place of Mustafizur Rahman.
With DC batting second, it was understandable that they'll introduce a batter to even things up. It has been a tournament to forget for Prithvi Shaw, with low scores of 12, 7, 0, and 15 in the four IPL matches so far.
The trend continued as Shaw was dismissed for yet another duck in the ongoing match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
In the first over of the DC chase, Mohammed Siraj bowled a good length ball as Shaw punched it towards mid-off for a quick single. He was slow to react as Anuj Rawat fired in a bullet throw towards the non strikers’ end to end Shaw’s rather short stay.
The disbelief in Shaw’s face could be seen as he was expected to fire all guns blazing in this innings.
Talking about the match, RCB posted 174 on the board. Despite a stellar fifty from Virat Kohli, RCB failed to capitalise and lost the plot in the middle phase.
DC have also been rocked in their chase. They lost the wicket of Shaw and Mitch Marsh followed him soon as DC are tottering at 1 for 2.
