Riding on Virat Kohli's scintillating half century and a superb collective effort from bowlers, Royal Challengers Bangalore crushed Delhi Capitals by 23 runs in the 20th match of the IPL 2023. Faf du Plessis-led RCB gained two crucial points with this commanding victory.

After being put into bat, RCB had a decent start to their innings, with Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis adding 42 runs for the first wicket.

After Mitchell Marsh drew the first blood for DC by removing skipper Du Plessis, Kohli and Mahipal Lomror steadied the ship for the hosts, stitching a crucial 47-run stand.

While Kohli struck six gorgeous fours and a six for his 34-ball 50, Lomror hammered two gigantic sixes for his 26.

Although Glenn Maxwell played a breathtaking cameo of 24 runs, his departure opened the floodgates for RCB, who lost two more wickets to find themselves in deep waters, reeling at 132 for six at one stage.

However, Shahbaz Ahmed and impact player Anuj Rawat helped them post a defendable total, guiding them to 174 at the end of 20 overs.

In response, Delhi Capitals had a horrible start, as Prithvi Shaw was runout for a first-ball duck, courtesy of Anuj Rawat's sensational fielding effort. Mitchell Marsh continued his poor run, being dismissed for a four-ball duck, while Yash Dhull got out for one in the third over.

Skipper David Warner looked solid for his 13-ball 19, but young seamer Vyshak Vijay Kumar dismissed him to wreak havoc in the visitors' camp.

Manish Pandey emerged as the lone warrior for DC with a magnificent fifty, but his valiant effort could only reduce the deficit as the Capitals managed 151 in 20 overs.

Debutant seamer Vyshak Vijay Kumar was the wrecker-in-chief for RCB with the ball, claiming three wickets for 20 runs in his four-over spell.
