In major developments, Punjab Kings have decided to seat out their Shikhar Dhawan from their Playing XI for their clash against Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League. Punjab's silk-stocking all-rounder Sam Curran will lead PBKS in Dhawan's absence.

Why Shikhar is not playing?

It is understood that Dhawan picked up an injury in PBKS' last fixture against Gujarat Titans, where the southpaw failed to fire. The state of the southpaw's injury is unclear, and it isn't known when would he return to action.

Nevertheless, the Kings have won the toss against the home team, and they will bowl first  in Lucknow. After Dhawan getting ruled out, PBKS have made tons of changes to their starting XI against LSG.

A young batter from Vidarbha, Atharva Taide, has been given his IPL debut cap before the upcoming clash. Meanwhile, Harpreet Singh Bhatia and Sikandar Raza have been included in Punjab's starting XI.

Whereas Rishi Dhawan, Nathan Ellis, Mohit Rathee and Prabhsimran Singh will be their Impact Player substitutes.

On the flip side, Lucknow has brought in Yudhvir Singh Charak into their Playing party over Jaydev Unadkat. Daniel Sams, Krishnappa Gowtham, Prerak Mankad, Jaydev Unadkat and Amit Mishra are their five Impact Player subs.
