Manish Pandey Slams a Fighting 50; RCB About to Hand DC 5th Straight Loss

The local boy Manish Pandey has come to Chinnaswamy to smash a fighting half-century against Royal Challengers Bangalore in a game where all the other Delhi batters failed to put on a mark in a chase of 175 runs.

However, Pandey could not do much after slamming his maiden IPL fifty for the Delhi Capitals as the combo of Wanindu Hasaranga and Dinesh Karthik sent him back.

Despite the local boy's efforts, DC are about to loss their fifth straight loss in the IPL 2023.

The former RCB batter came out to bat in the third over of the chase after a bullet throw from Anuj Rawat and daunting new-ball bowling from Mohammed Siraj and Wayne Parnell.

But, the worse was still to come for DC as Pandey just saw his team members coming in and walking back. He got zilch support from the other end, but Pandey didn't struggle against RCB's bowling, even for a bit.

The 33-year-old batter slammed his 22nd IPL fifty, and first for the Delhi franchise, which came off 37 deliveries as he smashed five fours and a biggie during his course.

But as soon as he completed his landmark, a wrong'un from Hasaranga lost the plot. Initially, he was given not out by the on-field umpire, but the RCB stumper's brilliance saw them going upstairs, where the third umpire overturned the decision.

At the time of writing, RCB are in touching distance from bagging two more points in the IPL 2023, with Delhi 8 down at 121 runs in a 175-run chase.
