Noor Ahmad Overtakes Hardik Pandya To Become Purple Cap Holder In IPL 2025

Noor Ahmad continues to be the best buy of the IPL 2025 season as the Afghan spinner once again showed his class in the ongoing match between CSK and PBKS. Prior to the start of this match, he had 10 wickets, but was the joint highest-wicket taker of the season alongside Hardik Pandya.

However, he took the big wicket of Priyansh Arya and overtook MI captain Hardik Pandya and CSK bowler, Khaleel Ahmed, who also reached the 10-wicket mark during the Punjab Kings batting. Noor dismissed Priyansh when he reached 103 and he now has 11 wickets to his name.

Noor Ahmad has an average of 13.64 and an economy of just over 8. He has been impeccable for the Super Kings and has been their best player across five matches played. He is being closely chased by MI captain Hardik Pandya, who has 10 scalps and Noor's teammate, Khaleel, who also reached the double figure mark.

Hardik, on the other hand came in as a surprising package as the all-rounder picked up a fifer against the LSG side and just like Noor, has been the one-man army for the struggling MI team. Khaleel, on the other hand slowly and steadily climbed up the rank and now sits at joint second.

Noor has two 3-wicket hauls to his name as the spinner aims to finish the season as the leading wicket-taker.
