The Nepal cricket team has qualified for next year’s 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. Under the leadership of Rohit Paudel, the Nepal team has won each of their four matches so far this 2025 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia and EAP Qualifier in Oman.

Owing to their unbeaten run, Nepal has joined hosts Oman to guarantee two of the top three slots of the tournament before concluding the Super Six phase itself.

Nepal qualifies for second successive T20 World Cup

The Nepal cricket team had to endure a decade-long wait before qualifying for the 2024 T20 World Cup edition in the Caribbean last year. As they continue to make rapid strides in international cricket, Nepal has now qualified for next year’s 2026 T20 World Cup, thus confirming their second big-ticket ICC T20 appearance in the space of just two years.

Fellow unbeaten team Oman has also qualified for the 2026 T20 World Cup by winning all their matches in the ongoing 2025 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia and EAP Qualifier so far at home. However, unlike the Nepal team, Oman’s upcoming 2026 T20 World Cup appearance will mark their fourth at ICC’s biggest T20 carnival, considering they have previously featured in the 2016, 2021 and 2024 editions over the last decade.

Guaranteed to secure two of the top three slots, Oman and Nepal will now face each other at Al Amerat on Wednesday, October 15.

As far as the T20 World Cup 2026 tickets are concerned, only one qualification slot now remains up for grabs from the ongoing Asia and EAP Qualifier, with the remaining teams vying to secure the final berth alongside Oman and Nepal.
