Nepal Women's Blind Cricket made history in a World Cup event as they defeated Pakistan in a cricket match in the Women's Blind T20 World Cup 2025 by 10 wickets.
It was an overwhelming victory as the team reached the semi-finals. As the top four teams from the group stage will advance to the knockout stage, India and Nepal crossed the line.
Nepal secure dominating victory over Pakistan
In the match, Pakistan Women's Blind Cricket team batted first and piled up 170 runs on the board for 7 wickets in Bengaluru. The Nepal women's blind team captain Binita Pun played remarkably well to put up 107 runs from just 54 balls.
Her innings was laced with 14 boundaries, and from the other end, opener Mankeshi Chaudhury played a deserving supporting innings by scoring 43 runs off just 31 deliveries.
As Pun hit the winning boundaries, the Nepal cricket team jumped across the ropes to run towards the batter and hug and celebrate the massive win with their national flag. This is a historic feat for the team since they reached a semi-final in a World Cup event that has been organised for the first time.
Pakistan still have a chance to qualify for the semis
Nevertheless, even after the shambolic loss, the Pakistan women's blind team will have a chance to secure their place in the semifinals in the six-team tournament, where India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Australia, and the USA are participating, and where the host nation will draw inspiration from India Women's recent World Cup 2025 win.
Each team is expected to play five matches in the group stage, where India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka have already completed their group stage fixtures. The other three teams are now left to play two more matches each to complete their group stage fixtures.
