Rinku Singh is shedding his white-ball specialist tag with sublime form in the Ranji Trophy 2025/26 season. He recently slammed 176 against Tamil Nadu to rescue UP from an ugly collapse.

Walking in at a tricky stage with his team at 149/3, Rinku knew UP could not afford another collapse.

The top order had done a decent job of seeing off the new ball, but Tamil Nadu’s spinners, especially P. Vidyuth and skipper Sai Kishore, were tightening the screws.

Instead of panicking, Rinku Singh settled in calmly, taking his time to assess the turn, the bounce, and the pace of the wicket.

His first fifty came slowly, but once he found his rhythm, the innings transformed.

On a slow and testing surface where most batters struggled for timing, Rinku batted with patience, maturity, and trademark fighting spirit.

Rinku Singh ended up scoring a century, and he made the inning count with a staggering 176-run knock off 248 balls, including 17 fours and 6 sixes.

With Shivam Mavi, he added a valuable 104-run partnership, keeping UP steady after a brief wobble. He then guided the lower order expertly, farming strikes when needed and giving the tail enough confidence to survive long spells.

When Rinku Singh got dismissed, Uttar Pradesh had 443 runs on the board at the loss of 9 wickets in response to Tamil Nadu’s 455 runs total from the first innings.

Rinku Singh is pushing Test team doors with a sublime run

Meanwhile, Rinku Singh has started his Ranji Trophy season 2025/26 in outstanding form for Uttar Pradesh.

In just two innings, he has piled up 341 runs, including two centuries. Against Andhra Pradesh as well, he hit 165* off 273 balls with 13 fours and two sixes.

With India’s Test team going through a transition, Rinku Singh has knocked on the selectors' doors, and if he continues this form, it won’t be long before the finisher is included in the red-ball set-up.
