ICC's First Independent Woman Director Indra Nooyi Exits After Six Years

Indra Nooyi, the first-ever independent women director of ICC has ended her tenure in the apex board after successfully completing six years in the office. She is also the former CEO of PespsiCo and was elected in ICC during Shashank Manohar's tenure in 2018.

According to the ICC rules, the independent woman director is eligible for three terms of two years, and Indra Nooyi completed her three terms in July 2024 with the annual Conference in Colombo.

ICC In Search Of New Female Independent Director

The ICC now has 16 members after the exit of Indra Nooyi which includes 12 full member, three associate members and a chairman. The new female director would be the 17th member and it could be anyone who has contributed in sports, business or in general. There are reports that the new director could be from Australia and she would be eligible for voting during the Chairman's election.

Jay Shah In Contention To Take Head Position In ICC

Jay Shah, the current honorary secretary of BCCI is also in race to take ICC's chairman position and will be the fifth Indian to take top post in ICC if he does become the chairman of the board.
