In a dominant contest, PBKS beat LSG by 8 wickets. Batting first, Lucknow had set up a comfortable total of 171 runs on the board, courtesy of Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni. However, Prabhsimran Singh unleashed his inner beat to slam 69 off 34 balls. Shreyas Iyer and Nehal Wadhera wrapped the formality chase quickly in 16.2 overs to secure a one-sided victory.

Here’s how LSG vs PBKS panned out in Lucknow:

Nicholas Pooran Helps LSG Recover From Early Blows

LSG batted first but Arshdeep Singh drew first blood in the first over itself by dismissing Mitchell Marsh. Singh’s delivery seamed away just enough after pitching, completely deceiving Marsh, who was expecting it to come straight on.

The subtle movement, combined with the sticky surface, made it even trickier, resulting in a leading edge straight to Marco Jansen at backward point and Marsh departed on a golden duck. Rishabh Pant, the captain, disappointed his team again, getting dismissed cheaply on 2 (5).

However, Nicholas Pooran, the man in form, helped Lucknow recover. He played a fighting knock of 44 off 30 balls to push the scoring rate.

Ayush Badoni, Abdul Samad Guide LSG To Competitive Total

Once Pooran departed, Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad took charge in the death overs. Badoni slammed quick 41 off 33 balls whereas Samad hammered 27 off 12 balls to help LSG post a competitive total of 171 runs on the board. Meanwhile, for PBKS, Arshdeep Singh scalped 3 big wickets of Marsh, Badoni and Samad.

Prabhsimran Singh’s Carnage Unsettles LSG

Priyansh Arya opened with Prabhsimran Singh but the former was dismissed by Digvesh Rathi in a dramatic fashion.

Bowling a short delivery outside off, Rathi tempted Arya into a pull shot, but with minimal footwork, the batter ended up top-edging it high into the air. Shardul Thakur, stationed at mid-on, took a safe catch, sending Arya back for just 8 runs. While Rathi pulled off a notebook celebration, umpires pulled him up for his actions.

Regardless, Prabhsimran Singh unleashed carnage on the other end to outplay LSG bowlers. He slammed a blazing 69 runs knock off just 34 balls to get the required run rate under control. PBKS batters came down hard against Ravi Bishnoi, hitting him for 43 runs in 3 overs.

PBKS Humiliates LSG To Seal Dominant Win

After Prabhsimran set the tone for Punjab, Shreyas Iyer and Nehal Wadhera finished things for PBKS in style. Iyer, extending his sublime form, slammed 52* off 30 balls whereas Wadhera also showcased some flair, hitting 43* off 25 balls as the Kings chased down the total in 16.2 overs. With a dominant performance from the bat and ball, PBKS beat LSG by 8 wickets.
