The Pakistan cricket team took a break from their intense preparations for the second ODI against New Zealand to celebrate the festival of Eid. Since the team is away from home, they offered players at a local mosque in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Pakistan is currently on a white-ball tour of New Zealand, which includes 5 T20Is and a 3-match ODI series. Unfortunately for Pakistan, they have faced challenges on the field.

The T20I series ended in a disappointing 4-1 loss for Pakistan, and the opening ODI wasn’t much better as they fell to a 73-run defeat against New Zealand.

Pakistan Players Ring In Eid In New Zealand

Meanwhile, before the second ODI scheduled on April 2, Pakistan players celebrated the festival of Eid.

In a video shared by the PCB on their official social media handles, the team, dressed in traditional attire, was seen heading towards a local mosque in Hamilton for the special Eid prayers.

The players, including captain Babar Azam, were seen exchanging Eid greetings with one another and taking group pictures after the prayers, which have now become viral across various social media platforms.

Men In Green To Fight For Survival In ODI Series

Pakistan are trailing the 3-game ODI series by 0-1. In the first ODI, New Zealand posted a daunting total of 344, thanks to a brilliant century by Mark Chapman (132) and a stunning 24-ball fifty from debutant Muhammad Abbas.

Pakistan, in reply, made a strong start and was positioned at 249/3 in the 39th over, seemingly on track to chase down the total. However, a collapse saw Pakistan lose quick wickets, and they were ultimately bowled out for 271.

Now the men in green must bounce back in the second ODI, scheduled to take place on Wednesday at Seddon Park to stay in contention.
