Arshdeep taken to cleaners [Source: @IPL/X.com]
Arshdeep Singh, the lead pacer of the Punjab Kings took 3 wickets against the Lucknow Super Giants but that was not for what he'll be remembered in the ongoing clash between LSG and PBKS. Rather, it will be the 20-run over which he conceded against Abdul Samad and Ayush Badoni.
Arshdeep taken to the cleaners
Arshdeep bowled 2 really good overs, but the third one went for plenty as the LSG duo targeted him with barrage of boundaries. The carnage started with a boundary off the very first ball, and then on the third ball, Samad smashed him for a colossal six.
The treatment continued as the fourth and the fifth ball also went for boundaries as Arshdeep Singh was taken to the cleaners in the 3rd over. However, he bounced back in style to take two wickets in his last over.
Despite going for 20 runs in the over, Arshdeep finished with figures of 3 for 43 in 4 overs as LSG ended their innings at 171/7.
Badoni, Samad take LSG to competitive total
Put into bat by Shreyas Iyer, LSG had a horrendous start as they lost Mitchell Marsh cheaply. Aiden Markram tried a few fancy shots, but he, too, perished and was followed by captain Rishabh Pant who scored just 2 runs.
Nicholas Pooran, the LSG star resurrected the innings and scored a crucial 44, but Chahal foxed him and got the prized wicket. The side needed a strong finish and Samad and Badoni provided just that. Badoni scored 41 off 33, while Samad was the star as he ended his knock at 27 off 12.
