Bangladesh carried out an easy win over Hong Kong in match number three and the second Group B match of the 2025 Asia Cup. Fast bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib and captain Litton Das hogged the limelight with their splendid bowling and batting displays in the game.

Nizakat, Captain Yasim Counterattack Tanzim Hasan Sakib

Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed delivered the opening blow with the wicket of Hong Kong opener Anshy Rath in the second over of the match. Babar Hayat at number three also got cleaned up by Tanzim Hasan Sakib for 14 as Hong Kong reached 30-2 near the end of the powerplay. Zeeshan Ali bided his time with a cautious 30 from 34 balls, while number four Nizakat Khan top-scored in the innings through his near run-a-ball 42 before both well-set batters were dismissed by Sakib and Rishad Hossain respectively.

Captain Yasim Murtaza bludgeoned 28 off just 19 balls to turbo-charge Hong Kong in the slog overs as they carted a competitive 143-7 from 20 overs. For Bangladesh, Tanzim Hasan Sakib unfurled the spell of the innings with figures of 2-21, while Taskin Ahmed and Rishad Hossain also chipped in with two wickets each.

Litton Das Leads Bangladesh’s Charge In Easy Win

Chasing 144, Bangladesh lost both openers, Parvez Hossain Emon (19 off 14) and Tanzid Hasan (14 off 18) by the time of reaching 47 inside the first six overs, with Ayush Shukla and Ateeq Iqbal both striking once each in their opening spells.

Captain Litton Das at number three subsequently forged a 95-run partnership for the third wicket with Towhid Hridoy, where the latter chipped in with an unbeaten 35 from 36 balls. Litton Das himself clattered six boundaries and a six in his top-scoring act of 39-ball 59 before falling to Iqbal at the brink of the finish line. Bangladesh eventually cruised towards a comfortable seven-wicket win in 17.4 overs.
