India Annihilates UAE In Asia Cup 2025 One-Sider
India decimated hosts UAE by nine wickets in the second match of the 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup in Dubai. Bowling first, Kuldeep Yadav (4-7) and Shivam Dube (3-4) picked up seven wickets between them, while Jasprit Bumrah and spinners Varun Chakravarthy, Axar Patel chipped in with a wicket each to envelop the entire UAE innings for just 57 in 13.1 overs.
In response, Abhishek Sharma blasted 30 off just 16 balls, while Shubman Gill (20* off 9) and captain Suryakumar Yadav (7* off 2) notched up the winning runs for India in just 4.3 overs.
Rohit Sharma Hints ODI Comeback Vs Australia
Indian captain Rohit Sharma has hinted his return to international cricket in the upcoming away ODI series against Australia. The legendary opening batter was spotted training, amid rumours of him quitting ODIs after retiring from Tests and T20Is. Sharma took to his Instagram account and shared a couple of pictures from his training routine. The vintage opener last played international cricket for India back during the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy in the UAE earlier this year.
Chamari Athapaththu To Lead SL Women In World Cup 2025
Legendary all-rounder Chamari Athapaththu will continue to lead the Sri Lanka Women team in the upcoming 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has named Sri Lanka’s 15-player squad for the tournament, with left-arm spinner Udeshika Prabodhani and batter Imesha Dulani finding a place in the group after getting dropped. Captain Athapaththu will also be accompanied by the likes of star performers like Hasini Perera, Vishmi Gunaratne, Harshitha Samarawickrama and Kavisha Dilhari.
New Zealand Name Sophie Devine-Led Squad For Women’s World Cup
New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has also named the entire 15-player squad of the New Zealand Women team for the upcoming 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. Vintage all-rounder Sophie Devine will lead the group in her final ODI outing, considering she has already set the tournament as her 50-overs swansong event. Suzie Bates, Amelia Kerr, Jess Kerr, Georgia Plimmer among others have also been selected in a star-studded team. Players like Flora Devonshire, Bree Illing, Polly Inglis, Bella James will be making their respective World Cup debuts.
MLC 2025 Gets A Start Date
The fourth edition of the Major League Cricket (MLC) has received a start date of June 18 next year. The tournament will run until July 18, making it a month-long event. The MLC 2026 season will also feature 34 games in total, reminiscent to the 2024 edition played out earlier this year in the US. The MI New York franchise will start out as defending champions. Notably, while the MLC 2026 has received its playing window, the USA Cricket is still in contractual dispute with league owners American Cricket Enterprises (ACE).
