India and South Africa faced off in the third and final ODI of the series in Visakhapatnam, with the scoreline tied at 1-1. For the first time in 21 ODIs, India managed to win the toss and asked the Proteas to bat first.

As the four-fers from Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna and a century from Yashasvi Jaiswal helped India win the series, here's how the match unfolded.

Quinton de Kock equals Jayasuriya's record with a 7th century vs India

Upon being asked to bat first, Quinton de Kock lost his opening partner Ryan Rickelton for a four-ball duck to Arshdeep Singh's delivery moving away outside off. de Kock combined with captain Temba Bavuma for a 113(121) partnership, followed by a 54(44) stand with the in-form Matthew Breetzke before SA lost both of them.

The southpaw, playing his 23rd ODI against India, got to his 7th century against them, equalling Sanath Jayasuriya's 7 in 62 innings less. He scored 106(89) with 8 fours and 6 sixes before being cleaned up by Prasidh Krishna. The score read 199/5 in 32.5 overs at the time.

Prasidh and Kuldeep run through the Proteas batting

After Ravindra Jadeja ended the century partnership between de Kock and Bavuma, Prasidh Krishna bowled a double-wicket over, dismissing Breetzke on 24 and Aiden Markam at 1(3). He later also got rid of the centurion in the same spell to put India in front.

On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav wreaked havoc with the old ball and inflicted a collapse, scalping wickets of the dangerous Dewald Brevis, Marco Jansen and Corbin Bosch within the span of five overs. He also dismissed Lungi Ngidi in the final over of his spell and finished with 4/41 (10) alongside Prasidh's 4/66 (9.5), and the visitors were restricted to 270.

Among other wicket-takers, Arshdeep finished with an impressive 1/36 (8) and Jadeja finished with 1/50 (9).

Jaiswal scores his maiden ODI ton; Rohit and Kohli score fifties to win the series

The Mumbai boys started the innings rather slowly on the evening, with Rohit Sharma leading the chase, while Yashasvi Jaiswal played the second fiddle. The duo stitched a fantastic 155-run opening partnership in 25.5 overs, before Rohit was dismissed by Keshav Maharaj, as he skied the slog sweep to Breetzke. He finished the series with two fifties, including this 75(73) with 7 fours and three sixes.

After a cautious start, Jaiswal started to attack and completed his maiden ODI century in 111 balls, flicking Corbin Bosch for a single. He stitched a 116*(84) partnership with Virat Kohli and took India past South Africa's 270. Kohli, on the other hand, played a brisk 65(45) to clinch the series.
