The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) charted 143-8 from 20 overs against Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad in match number 41 of the IPL 2025 season. Being put into bat first, the SRH lost each of its top four batters, including both in-form openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma inside the powerplay overs.
Forming forces at 35-5, middle-order batters Heinrich Klaasen and Abhinav Manohar led SRH’s remarkable recovery by composing a partnership for the ages. The two cricketers ended up stitching together a record sixth-wicket stand for the ‘Orange Army’, eclipsing the one between Romario Shepherd and Washington Sundar from IPL 2022.
Klaasen and Manohar re-write SRH history
Heinrich Klaasen and Abhinav Manohar composed 99 runs together for the sixth wicket from 63 balls to catapult the SRH from a precarious 35-5 to a competitive 134-6 in 19 overs. The hosts eventually reached 143-8 by the completion of their 20 overs, with Klaasen’s 44-ball 71 turning out to be the biggest benefactor of the innings. Manohar also chipped in with 43 runs from 37 balls before getting hit-wicket by Trent Boult right towards the end.
The two cricketers eclipsed Romario Shepherd and Washington Sundar’s 58-run partnership against Punjab Kings from IPL 2022 to record SRH’s highest sixth-wicket stand in history. Here is a look at top five sixth-wicket partnerships by SRH batters.

As it happened, both Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma were dismissed by Mumbai Indian paceman Trent Boult early in the game. Ishan Kishan and Nitish Kumar Reddy were also dismissed cheaply by Boult’s pace mate Deepak Chahar as the SRH slipped to 24-4 at the end of the powerplay.
Boult returned in the final over to add two more to his tally to claim astonishing figures of 4-26.
